In 1986, Randy Brown and a friend got me a trip to the USSR We have chosen four Soviet cities and Tourism Agency has taken on our transport, accommodation, meals and a guided tour of one hour of each city. Apart from that we could be on us. Gorbachev was beginning to open the door. Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan met while we were there. We were one of the test cases of tourists who were not entirely by an officer and the Soviet Union controlled. Eventhough they were seen "in secret"we have some experience of individuals made unique and wonderful. In 1986 there were almost no shops. Most of the cars were of poor quality. Almost no one had. The people were very nervous in the southern regions because of strict KGB. Only in Moscow was "modern", but is more like a city of propaganda. We saw long lines of people trying to enter a shoe store. The shoes are basically the same, hard and uncomfortable in the design. Waiting in line was the standard for food orClothing. At the age of 18 years had a job. The nation boasted propagandaly 100% employment. The work we saw was an elderly woman with a bush attached to a stick. His job was to sweep the streets and away the dirt. Young people do not have enough in the eyes with the use of forced labor for life. But in general, were people like us. Where there was very little he had, but they wanted our abundance. Sad change I've seen the fall of the Soviet Union is that people suddenlyRush ...
